I rode my pony today. It was cold but I was determined to get back in the saddle. The three boys were frisky. I shook the grain bucket and that's all it took- they came running. They were dirty from being in the pasture, but with a little TLC and a lot of elbow grease I got them babies looking like they had just come back from a day at the spa (I however looked and smelled like I needed a day at the spa)- Please daddy:)?! Anyways, after saddling one up I hopped on and headed for the pasture. I’m experienced- I hold on tight- I’m in control (usually)- not today though. Somehow my pony got spooked and Eaton Ranch witnessed a full on kickin’, spinnin’, buckin’ rodeo show. I held on but it wasn't tight enough, I landed in the mud and he took off- bad pony. Normally we get along. Normally he makes my heart happy, but not today. Besides a few bruises and a lower self-esteem- I’m fine. I will get back in the saddle. I will ride that pony again one day- but not today.
