My Crunchy Side: Homemade Granola Bars

They are better than store brand- and way healthier too. They are no bake, no hassle and you can whip up a batch quicker than quick, faster than fast, lickety split . They are the perfect go-to or to-go summer snack and will leave you feelin' earthy, crunchy, tree hugging good. Now let down your dreads and try em' out...

Ingredients:
1/4 Cup Butter
1/8 Cup Karo Syrup
1/8 Cup Maple Syrup (The Real Stuff)
1/3 Cup Brown Suga'
1/2 Tsp Vanilla
2 Cups Oatmeal
1 Cup Rice Crispies
2 Tbsps Mini Chocolate Chips

Step 1: In a saucepan over medium heat combine butter, karo syrup, maple syrup and brown suga'. Stir continuously and let boil for 2 minutes. Add vanilla and remove from heat.
Step 2: In a separate boil combine oatmeal and rice crispies.

Step 3: Combine the two like so & spread the mixture onto a well greased pan.
Step 4: Use a spatula to shape the granola bars- they will only take up a portion of the pan. Then add the mini chocolate chips, or heath bar pieces, or both (guilty) and vwala, donzo.
mhmm good!

Also:
Last week my aunt, uncle & their two beauty-ful gals moved- as in out of Ellington, as in goodbye cornfields and cow town, as in so long Lower Butcher. I must say though, their new home is quite lovely. I wouldn't complain...
